Former US secretary of state Hillary Clinton has accused President Donald Trump of orchestrating a “cover-up” involving files connected to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
In an interview published Monday, Clinton urged authorities to fully release the remaining materials.
“Get the files out. They are slow-walking it,” she said, adding that she and former president Bill Clinton “have nothing to hide.”
What Are the Epstein Files?
The US Justice Department last month released more than 3 million documents, photos, and videos tied to its investigation into Epstein, who died in federal custody in 2019 in what authorities ruled a suicide.
Bill Clinton’s name appears in the documents, though no evidence has surfaced implicating either Clinton in criminal wrongdoing.
Both Hillary and Bill Clinton have been ordered to give closed-door depositions before the House Oversight Committee, which is investigating Epstein’s connections to high-profile individuals and how authorities handled information about his crimes.
Hillary Clinton has said she would prefer the testimony to be public.
“We will show up, but we think it would be better to have it in public,” she said. “I want everybody treated the same way.”
Political Tensions Escalate
Clinton’s comments add another layer of political friction in Washington, where the Epstein investigation remains highly sensitive and politically charged.
While Clinton accuses the administration of withholding information, Trump and his allies have repeatedly dismissed claims of wrongdoing tied to him and criticized political opponents for what they describe as partisan attacks.
